The sunsets in Pomare Bay are often like this - what can we say?
We're atop the pa site next to Urupukapuka Bay. For such a lovely bay, it was surprising there were fewer boats here than in our anchorage at Paradise Bay.

SY SASSAFRAS anchored just behind us in Paradise Bay. She is a VERY proper British megayacht. No helicopter on board that we could see.

Steve is barely visible - walking on out to the most defended headland of the pa site.
There were almost no signs of visitors tramping this peninsula. Possibly because you have to work to get there.
The headland of the pa site is wind scoured - by the winter northeasterly gales.
The drought is so severe that many Pohutukawas had few blooms.
But the south side of this pohutukawa was thick with soft red blooms
