Steve & Dorothy Darden  > Year 2001 > Christmas in Tasmania
December, 2001... We spent the first two days across the river from Hobart in Lindisfarne, to ensure quiet sleepng conditions, but soon Kim and her family wanted to be surrounded by the sounds and sights of Hobart Town, so we asked Hobart Ports to open the bascule bridge and we passed into Constitution Dock, with 7 inches to spare on either side of Adagio. Serenaded by churchbells, we visited the main attractions of Hobart, most of which were within easy walking distance from Adagio.

We set sail to cruise the wonderful Tasmanian coastline for our Christmas. In beautiful weather, our crew first visited Little Fancy beach. Next we motored up the Huon River to Huonville and back down to Port Huon for Christmas eve and day. Santa navigated accurately to where Adagio was anchored, and filled the childrens Santa Sacks. One of David's favorite "toys" was our dinghy "Allegro", both in and out of the water. The rainbows and sunsets were icing on our Christmas cake.
